Just About Ready for Ft. Worth and TXLA

This morning I’m putting the final touches on two presentations I’ll be giving tomorrow in Ft. Worth at the 100th Annual Texas Library Association Conference: “Speaking Out for Libraries: Promoting Our Values, Proving Our Worth.”  I’m looking forward to sharing the day with folks who love and protect our nation’s books and literacy.

My first presentation will be titled “Is the End of Reading Here?” and focuses on the 9 metaphors we use when thinking and talking about reading.

The second is called “Handmade Thinking: Drawing Out Reading” and describes the 21 formats I’ve developed for responding to texts with drawing.

And here below are the slides I’ll be using for each.
