Here’s a handmade response in an attempt to capture the 10 curricular programs in my department here at ASU. (Two more in creative writing are waiting in the wings.) (Oh, and our mascot is the ram.)
As I was drawing this, I was thinking of how others in higher ed might respond to a department head cartooning his administrative responsiblities. Then just at the same moment, I received an email pop-up from the National Council of Teachers of English and its Committee Chair for the Conference on College Composition and Communication accepting my submitted proposal for their annual conference in Atlanta next spring on the topic “Cartooning as Reader Response,” an ongoing theme in this here blog. Take that.
